The purpose of this study was to comparison of oral health status by national oral health surveys among children and adolescents in Korea. This study used data from the Korea National Health & Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES) and the Korean National Oral Health Survey(KNOHS). The subjects were 5 years old children and 12 years old and 15 years old adolescents. The independent variables were the year of surveys and the age of the subjects, and the dependent variables were the oral health level variable; prevalence of active caries, dental caries experience, and CPITN2. For statistical analysis of the data, STATA/SE 15.1(supplied by STATA Corporation) was used. And the analysis was conducted using Z-test(p<0.05). In both surveys, dental caries-related variables showed a decreasing trend as the years passed. CPITN2 also showed a decreasing trend as the years passed in both surveys, but the mean differs by more than 10% and is statistically significant. Although KNHANES and KNOHS surveys were representing the public oral health level, caution was needed interpreting the results.
